Page layout and image enhancing

For the last few months I have been doing page layout and image enhancing of A Pictorial History Book for the Royal Harwich Yacht Club in Woolverstone; a project that was undertaken by B. Moss and a few other members of the club. It is the first time for me to do this kind of work, through which I have gained much valuable experience and an insight into this kind of work. I admit I felt quite overwhelmed by the work at first, but after a couple of chapters the work became smoother. I look forward to seeing it in print sometime next year!

日本画〜Japanese painting〜Self-portrait

I started this painting last year whilst I was still in Japan, and I have finally finished it. It's my self-portrait, something I always find hard to do...
Painted on washi 和紙  paper, using Japanese fine mineral based pigments 岩絵具や方解末.

Trick or Treat!?!

Here is my Halloween illustration! Have been working on it for the last couple of days and was trying to make a good scan of it to my computer, which is no easy feat as the colours are white washed by the scanner...
Now it's done I will be submitting it to the blog 'Illustration Rally' which is a fantastic blog run by Natsuki Otani. It's an international illustration collaboration where themes are set, and fresh up-coming illustrators all contribute. There are 'Rallies', 'Artist features' and 'Events', and Halloween is one of them now!
